About
Overview
The County Board is developing a comprehensive master plan for several important public facilities, including the courthouse, jail and sheriff’s office, work release center (Huber), and county library. Throughout this process, the Board is committed to keeping residents informed and engaged.
Many of these facilities are aging, and the County must consider both short-term repairs and long-term solutions. To support this effort, the County has partnered with Venture Architects to assess the current condition of each building, identify future needs, and evaluate possible options.

The County Board is carefully reviewing this information to determine the most practical and cost-effective path forward. The goal is to be responsible with taxpayer dollars while ensuring these essential facilities remain safe, functional, and able to serve the community well into the future.
Why This Matters
These facilities play a vital role in the daily operations, safety, and services of our county. From public safety and justice services to education and community resources, they support functions that residents rely on every day.

As these buildings age, maintenance costs increase and operational challenges become more frequent. Addressing these issues through a long-term plan helps reduce unexpected repairs, improves safety and efficiency, and allows the County to make informed decisions rather than reactive ones.

This master planning effort ensures the County is looking ahead while balancing current needs with future growth so investments made today responsibly serve our community for years to come.
